The sand eel lost the battle and became breakfast for the Black Crowned Night Heron. Did a tiny bit of beach clean up.

Absolutely love this capture, Grace. The light is terrific. Like how his feather fell to the near side of his body. Everything came together well for you here.

Always great to see a low angle shot and perfect timing, light is great too...only nit pic from me would be the small patch of green at the top of the foremost leg, but that's really being pedantic

Really sweet shot, Grace. I love the action pose and behavior you captured. Light and techs couldn't be better. If mine, I would probably crop just a bit off the top; feels like a bit too much empty space up there.

Wowee, what a stunning action shot, Grace! Beautiful IQ, sharpness, and such a singular moment you have captured. Just love it.

Hi Grace, love your low perspective, and I really like the light in this too. You have brought out fine detail on the heron, sharp, great red eye, and the wriggling sand eel puts this over the top.

Cool! I can almost see the little sand eel wriggling for safety! Techs look great, as does the processing. I was going to suggest cropping more above, glad Steve suggested it.

    Hi Grace,
I really like this. techs are excellent and great action and gotta love the wiggly worm. No nits there.
I would take a bit off the top and clean up the green vegetation under the breast.
