This is an image from Liberty State Park in Jersey City NJ. I liked the sail boat and kept trying to get it alone in front of the Empire State Building, but those tourist boats kept getting in the way. I didn't like the results of the straight image and was about to DELETE it. I decided to crop it, clone out the modern boats, add some textures, convert to B&W in SEP2...this is the results.

Very nice image and application, Nick.

    Nice Boat!!!

Only suggest is I might have added a little more contrast if it were mine. But very nice as is.

Yes, just a tad more contrast. Well done....."when you get bummers, think of ways to make wows!"

Nick, nice results! I think just a tad more contrast would look good also.

I understand the suggestions for more contrast, but -- especially with the brownish tone and the texture -- it looks to me like your intent was to have it look like an aged photo. The reduced contrast works well for that.

Nice job replacing the missing background when you got rid of the other boats. I also like the way you highlighted the sailboat and skyline.

Beautiful composition, Nick. I love the aged look to it and the crop works well here. TFS.
