A difficult and highly sought after species from our Michigan Songbird trip last weekend. These guys nest on the ground in bogs in southest Canada and a few extreme north eastern US states.

Wowee, Matthew, you captured it and how well indeed! Crystal clear, with a beautiful complementary background. Congratulations on this stunning image of a rare and highly sought after warbler.

Gorgeous image design and the perch is great. I really enjoy the pose. I feel the sharpening is a bit coarse and lacking in fine detail. But thats the only crit for me.

Wow. Wonderful capture of this rarity. Even got a nice bit of head turn. Sharp, well exposed and good bg. Was he called in to a setup perch? Boy, do I wish I could add one of these to my small warbler collection. They occasionally pass through NJ on their way to their breeding grounds, but I've never seen one. Well done indeed.

Bill, Matthew did indicate "birdtunes" in his image data

Yes, I did notice 'birdtunes'. I phrased my question poorly. I just wondered if the perch and bg were a setup, or a 'wild' setting? Not that it matters. Its a gorgeous image either way; just curious.

Good question- this perch was just natural and growing in the warbler's habitat. I guess you could say it was semi-wild because it was one we considered the bird might go to and brushed it off and made sure the background was good behind it before we began

Perch, bird and bg look great. This is a wonderful image, a warbler I have seen in pictures only.
