Man, oh man, the king of flight images strikes again! This is a really fine image, Jody. I love the eye level angle, open mouth, and the lighting on some of the iridescent feathers. Can you share with us how much you needed to crop this image (just capturing it is fantastic, but I'm still curious). Great work.

Very nice image. Not sure I could move fast enough to get one of these..even if the camera can!

    Hi Jody!

I thoroughly enjoy all your images, and I always look forward to you next treat & inspiration. As usual, this one does not disappoint! I love the sharpness and beautiful color, great backfround, of a very difficult BIF. The open beak and the tongue detail in flight is simply on another level. Struggling to offer a suggestion ... maybe the shadow line on the far wing looks slightly unnatural??

This is the frame right before the one I posted, Judd. Full frame in this one. No processing on this one other than reduce for web size. I captured 6 images in this burst. All were in focus. :) I'll tell you, after capturing these guys in flight, everything else moves in slow motion! :D

    Thanks all!
