    Default Snowy egret

Flew by on the middle of the day, so very harsh light, had to use -0,3 in the lightening. In the raw converter I could get a lot of details back in the wings by toning down highlights.

    Thijs:

You did a good job showing detail in the whites, but they are too dark for my taste, rather gray, most of values are in the 220 range or less. I would generally shoot for 240-245, some prefer a little less.

I pulled up the curve to that level in PS, and preferred the result, so you might want to try that.. It still retained very good detail in the whites. The sky looked better too.

Sharp, good display of feet, wish you had caught him earlier so he wasn't angling away from us.

    Cheers

You did a good job controlling your whites in this harsh light. Agree with Randy that you could improve the overall look by increasing your whites. Wish for a tad more space by this young Snowy Egret's feet. The flying away pose is okay with me and I like how it shows the underwing on the far side.

Good points about the whites, and I agree the image would have been stronger had the egret not been angling away from us. Sharp details, and love the trailing legs and feet, as well as the transluscense of the primaries..
