    Default Limpkin At Last Light

One of my target species in Florida was Limpkin. I had researched where they were known to be found, but did not find any there...instead I found this cooperative individual when I visited at Artie's place. A pleasant surprise for me!

Photographed in Indian Lakes Estates as the sun was setting, giving this pleasing golden hues (you can see the sun close to the horizon in the eye)...

Canon 7D + 100-400L @400mm, manual exposure, evaluative metering, 1/320s., f/6.3, ISO 800, natural light, handheld, FF, NR to the background.

A beauty, Daniel. I would love to get this species. The late afternoon light really makes it. The horizon in the eye suggests the need for a fair amount of CW rotation. I'm guessing this was a conscious decision for compositional reasons, and a good choice IMO.

Hi Dan, sweet light with warm colours, and you have brought out excellent detail - sharp too. I like how you have cropped this.

Very pretty bird and sweet light. You were really lucky! I do see a bit of noise on BG.

    Daniel:

Lovely colors, soft, warm, rich. Great details, smooth BG.

Good point by Bill about the horizon in the eye, but it works for me re: rotation as is.

    Cheers
