I was able to get several frames of this fellow on different perches as he flitted around in the bushes. I had initially rejected this one because of the leaf going through the tail, but after reading the helpful comments on yesterday's post, I decided to process this one. The perch and lighting, while not perfect, are arguably better than yesterday's post. Lets call this one #3a in the warbler series. I'd like to know what you think.

I like this much better. Bird is sharper and nicer BG. I might tone down the brightness of BG and leaves a bit.
In a perfect world the tail would not be partially obscured by the leaf but this is such a hard bird to see, let alone get a good shot of that I am Ok with it,
    Gail

Great head turn \and eye contact against nice background, Bill.

Nicely done Bill. I might add black to the mid tones a bit.

I like the pose, curvy perch and BG. I agree with Gail on toning down the brightness. Well done Bill!

I agree with you that the leaf blocking the tail is an unfortunate bummer, but the bird looks great, as well as the perch and background. Good comp too.

Thanks, everyone, for commenting. I've played around with curves and selective color in the midtones, and taken the bg brightness down a notch. Does this help? Now if I could just clone out that leaf.

Here's one more repost. I was troubled by the amount of green in the yellow breast feathers, but wasn't sure what to do about it. I may be caused by filtered or reflected light through the leaf canopy. But I discovered that if I took 15% of cyan out of the yellow channel, it looked better to my eye.

Repost #3 looks a lot better to me. Nice bird and clean BG. Keep them coming.
