I do not think I have seen this bird before, although it is apparently endemic in South Africa and Namibia, It has a marvelous voice unfortunately not captured here.
Taken in Addo Elephant National Park, South Africa, 15th April 2012.
EOS 1D MkIV
500mm F4 hand-held
F4, ISO 400, 1/800
I should have upped the ISO so that I could have upped the F stop!
Beautiful bird and BG. The thorny perch is so ' Africa". Love it.
I would clone out the OOF white branch at top of tail.
Nice singing pose.
Do you have a bit more room at the bottom? I find the tail a bit cramped,
Gail
Ken,
The open beak is great, do like the IQ, the BG and the branches, I do see Gail point of view about the branch on the tail, I also wish a small rotation of the head toward us.
Thanks everybody, it is not very often I get a bird image "worthy" of posting here.
I agree on the comments regarding the HA, I will look to see if I have something a little better.
