This little monster almost crashed into my face! It was attracted by my moth lights and apparently isn't the most agile flying insect around so it bounced here and there and finally ended up on its back on the ground. I brought it inside for a session in the light box.
Cropped, curves, lightly painted over some flash highlights, patched over a blemish, exposure, contrast, smart and high-pass sharpening.
That is a real stunner, lovely detail and light. A real quality image if ever I saw one.
We have a similar one, most in southern England and it is black.
Did you manage to get any on a natural background?
