    Default Inside Grist Mill

This scene was taken from inside the Mill. The miller was so kind to allow the photo.......I have processed and reprocessed this image so many times, I'm not sure the net effect of some of the filtering .............but here goes. Cropped from the right and cloned a some boxes out of the view. This is a single image photo processed in Low-Key. The light was very low inside the mill and I wanted to preserve that feeling. I used multiple layers of tonal contrast through the processing to add/subtract details. I applied Nik's Polaroid Transfer for it's warm affect on the lighting and subtle "smear" for some atmosphere, also used the the Tear-off option for some warm blacks. Saturation adjustments. What think?

I think you did a super job with the composition and mood. The darkness of the upper part broken by the light in a few places adds a lot. I also like that the chair -- rickety as it appears to be -- is next to the stove. At first, the orange on the bottom of the stove seemed appropriate because it certainly adds to the warmth. But it looks unnatural. Is that a painting of, perhaps, the mill and a sunrise or sunset?

Jay, I like the effect. It reminds me of night in a cabin with no electricity and a glowing stove. It almost has an Orton effect. Nice work

Jay, Nice job with the effect. I like the mood and the scene. I might evict or change the tone of the green small thing on the right.

Nicely composed image and excellent job with the processing on this, Jay. Like the overall low light glow and blue sheen to coffee pot is nice touch.

Jay, another strong image from your trip...you've developed a keen eye for finding subjects and compositions from the more "ordinary" aspects of life. Love the processing...the green area Denise mentioned...is that a leaf that grew through the crack in the log wall?

I really like this one! The lighting is spot on for an old building without electricity and I like the composition and processing.
