    Default Harris Hawk

    This Harris Hawk is a captive bird and is used in educational displays, i had a chance to get some shots last weekend
    very handsome bird.

    David, they are a beautiful bird and you got some excellent detail, a nice background, and a good pose. I wish the light had not been such that you wound up with the shadow on part of the eye. Did you have some software that add's "fill flash" effects? Just my opinion.

    Thanks Stan, the eyes are sunken n this bird and therfore difficult to avoid the shadows, I have lightroom 3 but use it sparingly a. because I am not very good with it and B. I am a bit old fashion with PP

    Quite harsh light and lots of shadows.
    I like the detail in the feathers and the eyebrow. Good BG

    I like the sharpness and the green BG. Unfortunately the sun angle really hurt you; it's causing a strong shadow on the eye. That shadow, along with a head that's angled slightly away from you, detracts from the image. I'd try to shoot when the sun is lower in the sky and wait for a head angle that lights up the bird's eye.

    Great IQ and details of this beautiful bird.

    I wonder if you could lift some of those shadows on the left side.
