    Default Great gig in the sky

    Hi,

    I took this White-throated Kingfisher after an unsuccessful dive in Bamdej marsh, south west of IRAN. The perch was so ugly & I decided to crop it as portrait. I'm not sure whether it works or not?

    This is one unhappy looking bird~ I don't know if it is the fact that he missed the fish, or his hair do is really messed up!

    Sharp, well exposed. It might be interesting to see the original to see what your cropping options were. It is OK to add the original of this image to the thread.

    Thanks for posting the original. I think you did a good job cropping, considering the perch. I would probably add a little bit more below, just above the pipe, to show the curve of the belly, and have a bit more showing on the left, so there is a sliver of BG showing.
    Looking forward to more.
