    Default Three Trees

Cades Cove, foggy morning sunrise. These old trees in the park just floor me.........................I used Topaz Clean Curly smooth at light opacity for its effect on the leaves. Added just a bit of diffusion to recreate the lighting I remember. The rest was hand painted lighting.

    Comments always welcome. Cheers...........

Jay, you stopped me dead in my tracks. My intent was to take a quick look at some images before lunch and do comments later. This absolutely couldn't wait. I love what you did with the foliage and the diffusion. AND, your composition is wonderful. I don't know if you intentionally laid it out in divine proportions or if you just have a great eye. There's also a wonderful sense of depth -- partly because of the road and the muted tones in the background and partly because of the darker and lighter tones in the foreground trees.

The lighting glows. It is luminous and subtle. I want to walk into the photo it is so appealing.

Dennis, Thank you. I have done some reading on Divine Proportions, but I haven't as yet gotten in the habit of thinking about it before the snap. I took this image from a sitting position just to get the mid-ground tree under the arch of the branches in the foreground tree....it made some sense to me at the time. The depth was helped by mother nature and the fading mist. I sometimes use touches of tonal contrast, brushed-in, to highlight things of interest in the foreground, which also helps with perceived depth.

Jay, not only is this a wonderful composition and image...you are becoming more and more a master of the subtle nuances of processing to your vision; not always the easiest thing, and certainly something not easily done consistently. Beautiful work...very impressed.

Nothing more I could add....so well done. As said, I wanted to walk into it, stay in it, rest in it......and Cade's Cove is another one of my favorite places.
