Something different for me...playing a bit with approaches. 180mm lens, f/16@1/20. RAW image processed in LR; blur vignette on a low opacity layer; a texture applied from Perfect Effects; Viveza used to tone down highlights at the top for final image. Not sure I really achieved what I was looking for...but it's getting close!

Well, I like it! the star patterns at the base of the flower are a nice touch. The convergence of the two thingamabobs is not ideal, but the overall effect is quite nice. I like the soft feel of the image, and colors a re cool. Good processing on this, John.

I really like the lines in this and how the yellow fades at the top. The tiny details, such as the fringe around the anthers and the fuzzy veins in the petals, really add dimension.

John, I really like the treatment that you did. I like the contrast of the soft yellows and browns. The only thing I am not wild about (although it is part of the flower) is the cobra-looking thing (how's that for knowing my flower anatomy?)

John...I like the look of this image except for the top...seems too bright to me.....If it were mine i would try a crop from the top or possibly tone down the top with a low opacity brush filled with a nearby yellow

Thank you for the comments and suggestions; I have gone back and forth on the brightness in the upper 1/3 or so of the image as well...still not decided, though I did bring it down a bit from what Fractalius rendered originally. For comparison/contrast..here is the original image, pre-Fractalius.

John, I think it came out terrific. I might tone down the top just a touch as suggested by Bob. Very cool look on the anthers with the small hairs.
