Default Tamrac 5793 bag for very long lenses

    Hi all,
    Does anyone use this bag?
I like the idea of keeping the camera attached to the lens when hiking/exploring.
Any input pros/cons is greatly appreciated.

I haven't used this particular item, but many folks, myself included , use the Lowepro Lens Trekker 600AW, which appears to be a similar product. It is a good option if you want to carry the camera mounted on a super telephoto.
Not a lot of extra carrying areas for extra items, but you can get extra pouches to add on as needed.

    Ofer,

I am not familiar with the Tamrac bag, but I have used the LowePro bag that Randy suggested. For your 800mm set-up, the LowePro bag should fit, but only with the hood off / reversed. Looking at the specs on the link you posted, the Tamrac looks like the same. If you want to keep the hood in the shooting position, you will have to consider the Kinesis L622 bag --> it is the only one I could find long enough to contain the lens and body with the hood on. I went with the L622 bag with the backpacking harness attachment and an external pouch for the flash / TCs / extension tubes / accessories and the "foam doughnut" inside.

    Regards,
    Jeff

    Thanks Humberto!
Since they are both similar in price I will go with the LowePro as I know they make top quality stuff.
    Cheers,
    Ofer
