Osprey's at a nest I monitor the last couple of years.
First time at the site today, they are on the nest again.
A fairly challenging site, in the Columbia River Slough with a dark forest in the background.
Low light today but I tried to make the best of it.

This is one image where I do not mind the clutter at all . Love the depth and the colours here . A bit of eye contact is what I would have wished for .

    Dan:

A handsome pair, well exposed, sharp, BG works for me.

Head of standing bird shows well despite merge with wing.

Perhaps a tiny sliver off the top of frame, personal taste on the crop.

    Cheers

Hi Dan, bet you are looking forward to sharing more time with this family. Love the soft light, well timed to get the wingspread, and you have brought out the detail and sharpness nicely. Great BG too.

Fantastice nest site, you could ask for a better background! Good poses and well exposed. I remember your images from last year, and hope you have some family additions to share with us again the near future!

Lucky you to have a nest with such a nice BG! I agree that better eye contact would have been nice. And I'd bring down the whites on top of the birds' heads just a little.

This is a great nest with minimal stick clutter and a great BG. I would take a bit off the top. Great IQ

I like the shot very much, I think a tad more contrast would help it pop.
