Drove more than 3 hours this morning hoping to have another session with this bird. Tide was perfect, light was awesome but the birds weren't there.... Got in the car and drove another 3 hours back....
This is the essence of bird photography - you never know.....
This image was taken in the previous session about two weeks ago. The Beach Stone Curlew was displaying this aggressive display when it was attacked from the air by a Masked Lapwing. The encounter happened so quickly that I only realised I got this image when I downloaded the card to my computer...

The low angle at which you captured this bird really makes it powerful, Ofer. The light, the BG and FB and colors all work so well together. The behavior makes it even better.

Super low angle, and you achieved good DOF. Well timed to capture the aggressive pose, and the pano crop works well.

This is one of my favorites of all of them. It's a very cool environment (clean too). Not seeing this guy second time around just backs up the reality that you better get what you can now cause you may not get another chance. A lesson I learned a few times too many.
