I think this is a song sparrow but I'm horrible at ID for this class of birds. Cropped from the left and right only and I cloned out several distracting branches. Taken with the late morning sun.

    Technical Bits:
    Nikon D80
    Nikon 300 1:4 AF-D + 1.4 TC
    ISO 200 f/4 1/640 sec
shutter priority, center weighted metering, no eV compensation

Nice pose on the Song Sparrow. I only wish it was looking away from the perch rather than into it. I think you could also crop even more of the empty space at left.

Nice looking bird, and I hear you on the ID. They are all Little Brown Birds to me. I think the perch is a bit overwhelming as well as bright in spots. I might crop a little from the bottom.

    Hello Leroy,

You have some harsh light on this image. The head turn is very nice. However, the tail part of the bird looks sharper which tells me you didn't focus in the head.

Song Sparrow, yes. And sharp with a good EXP. And a nice look back head angle. But the facing into the perch thing does not work...
