Gail, we must have been posting at the same time! What a beautiful portrait, I love this. The golden light, the demure pose, the droplet on the bill tip, the out of focus background and sense of habitat. Lovely job.

Nice!! I only saw this guy along the beach...I so wanted it in that more marshy area! Nice light, pose, BG, low angle. I would smooth out the orangy streak directly above the head, but I like all else...

Love everything about this one, Gail. I bet you were sitting in the water to capture this one. Lovely colors and pose.

I really like the watercolor look to the scene and habitat.
Nice DOF with the thin line of water focus and the bird.
    Very nice.

Beautiful image, love the light and the pose. May be a slight tilt of the head towards us, otherwise a great image.

Nice image. A bit warm though - some cooling filter can help IMHO.

    Hi Ofer,
I thought about toning down the yellow but that is what it looked like IRL so left it as is. I will have a try with the cooling filter to tweak though and see if I like it. I have images from 3 or 4 minutes later and the light completely changed and I didn't like it as much,

Hi Gail, your shooting angle from the water creates the perfect perspective. Pose and HA look good, and just love the light, colours, detail and overall sharpness. Nicely separated from the BG. Well captured.
