Great pose, and it amazes me how you guys get these sharp with the SS, would love to learn how its done some day... but I have to say the image looks like it has been cut out and pasted on this BG. TFS Don

Dumay - its an effect of short duration flash, and position of flashes. SS is not required. Wings on small Hummingbirds average 38-80 per second. Extreme short flash duration is required, so power is way down (IGBT circuit cuts off the flash after initial firing). For 580EX (anyone have 580EXII figures?):
    1/1 power = 1/1000 second
    1/2 power = 1/2000
    1/4 power = 1/4000
    1/8 power = 1/9000
    1/16 power = 1/15000
    1/32 power = 1/21000
    1/64 power = 1/30000
    1/128 power = 1/35000

    Another great pose Don.
This one looks a little over flashed to me.
I think toning down the highlights on the neck would fix that.
    Well done.
