    Hi Guys

    Think this is an Australian darter... Taken at the local Marina last week approaching sunset. No story other than he/she sat quietly for me as I inched my way closer. Hope you like it, I am a little unsure about the crop...

    details are;
    1D4 & 500F4 IS
    1/1600 @ F5.6
    ISO 1000
    Manual exposure
    No Flash
    Hand held (well, I was sitting on the rocks with the tripod on my knees...)
    Full frame.

    Hi Don, I feel your comp is spot on, and well timed to get the look back pose. A difficult character to expose, but you have achieved that nicely, sharp too.

    Lovely light and the BG is great. I like the look back pose. Looks a lot like our African Darter!

    Sweet! Crop works well but maybe a tiny bit off the top.

    Very nice image and nice DOF on the bird with everything sharp.
    Not always easy with the back pose.
    An interesting bird not seen in my part of the world. TFS.

    Hi Guys

    Oops, that should have read "....I was sitting on the rocks with the lens on my knees..". Just ordered a 5 series Gitzo so I had "tripod" on my mind..
    Thanks all for the feedback anyway, much appreciated.
