Wonderful flight shot ... great wing position, exposure, detail, and BG!
Agree about more space.
If this is a crop and you have enough room, might be nice to not have the nesting material clipped.
lovely image great exposure and focus nesting material makes it well done
already some good advice above on the composition aspects.
Loved this one, Allen. really sharp and excellent exposure control. bird angle could not have been better. Well done. A pleasure to look at, this shot.
Lovely downstroke wing position and a good look at the face with a good head angle. Do you have more room all around?

Yes, more room all around is needed...otherwise excellent. I love the shadows between the primaries.
Here is a repost. That is all the room I have on bottom unfortunately. Thanks everyone for their comments...
Allen:
Lovely bird, nice pose, sharp, well exposed,
Looking at your original, I would consider pruning up the stick exiting the frame below, just enough to allow you to add a little canvas there. Depending on how much canvas you add below, might then trim a balancing amount off the top. I could also see a tiny trim off the right side to move him more to the right in the frame.
Cheers
