    Captured this moment on a morning in La Jolla, sitting on the rocks with Artie. The Brown Pelicans are plentiful and if you are careful in your movements you can get very close. This image is full frame with the 7D/400 kit. Selective NR on the background and sharpening on the bird.

    7D, EF400mm f/5.6L
    Manual mode, f/8@1/1600 ISO 400 WB 5100K

    I like the composition and the details and also the beak pointed downwards instead of straight at the camera. Overall, great photo.

    I like this one, Kerry. Good DOF getting bill and bird in-focus. Not much to suggest here except maybe a little brightening on the eyes?

    Kerry...I usually don't like head on shots but this is an exception! Really Nice work in all respects! I vote for brightening the eyes just a bit if possible.

    Fantastic head angle Kerry! Very imaginative image. I would lighten the face and eye area just a smidge.
