Default Song Sparrow with a twist

Or not? Hiya folks...nothing much was done to this picture in postprocessing (aside from some mild dodging and burning) but I am posting it here because of the weirdbeard composition and cropping and the fact that I'm pretty sure the folks here at "Out of the Box" might enjoy such a thing? I'll be eager to hear your comments and ideas and verbal scaldings...hoping all is well...

Jack, there are so many fun things you can do with an image like this.

I like the bird and the perch he's on so I played around with some textures and fract and PB/Oil and came up with this version. I'm sure others here will have some different ideas.

Jack, I think it's an interesting composition and I like Maureen's interpretation of it also. I think if you're not going to do any post-processing I would crop some from the right to eliminate half of the stalk he's perched on and crop just a bit from the top to make more of a pano. I like the green and brown stalks on the left - I think it gives it more of a "habitat" feel to it.

Thanks for taking the time, folks. As for me, I'm as attached to the right side as I am to the left, but of course I will now play around with this...good ideas from both of you, thanks much.

Jack, It's a quirky kind of image and I like it. I do wish you had a bit more of the leaves in the frame at the top right-they seem a bit cut-off. I like the left side also and I think that the perch almost looks like a nest. As presented I would crop as Cgeryl suggested. Maureen's repost is a nice option also.

Cute little bird, Jack, and like the texture to the perch. Both Maureen and Cheryl offer some good options.

    I love Maureen's interpretation.
