Really trying to perfect this shot. My first attempt lacked detail to some point. This one seems better there and I love the open mouth and flying sand but wish for better HA'S . I still like it.

This looks like the kind of image that can win a competeition. Good action, colour, impact and simplicity.

Exposure is great, BG is perfect. Interaction is great.

Personally, since you have the HA and eye contact on the active bird with the cool hairdo, I think this works just fine.

I'd be thrilled with this one, Cheryl. Comp and HA work for me. Terrific capture.

I know what you mean about the HA (for the one at left) but I still like it alot for the action, flying sand, touching bellies. These guys (and the Laughing Gulls) provided paenty of terrific behaviour opportunities and were fun to watch a few weeks back!!

Hi Cheryl, unless they are trained, we all strive for both subjects to create perfect HA's all the time. This still works, and I like the close up here. Compared to your previous image, you have certainly nailed the whites much better in this. The flying sand adds interest. Well timed and captured.

Cheryl this capture really rocks and, if I were you, I would enter it in a few contests. The crop is spot on. Love the action, the flying sand and lovely BG. The different colors of the beaks makes it stand out even more. It doesn't matter in the least to me that the bird on the left doesn't have great HA. This picture tells a story.

Also love it, the interactions is amazing and the water drops in the middle, I do not miss the HA on the bid on the left.

GF, this is just stunning on all counts! I love it!! Those differently colored beaks, the flying sand (or water?), the action, the IQ, fantastic! Definitely contest material.

Thanks everyone. Marina, the one on the right is the female and I was overwhelmed by her beautiful colored beak. I am glad you noticed that, it was my inspiration to get this couple.
