Back on deck again and here is the first result taken at Duns Creek near Maitland NSW.
Striated Pardalotes occur widely over mainland Australia and also Tasmania and show variation in appearance resulting in six races which fall into two groups. Black-headed and Striated-headed forms . Black-headed Pardalotes are divided into two races one occurs across northern Australia and the other from northern Queensland to far northern New South Wales. The Striated-headed Pardalotes have four races which covers Western Australia, most of South Australia, Tasmania, New South Wales and much of western Queensland. The Striated Pardalote depicted here is (Pardalotus striatus race ornatus) and the head shows it to be of the Striated-head group. These small highly active birds are often missed by the casual observer as often they feed high in the tree canopy.

Cute bird...looks like a cross between a goldfinch and white-throated sparrow with a dash of waxwing on the wing :-) Nice pose, good head angle. Tough BG, you can use this lens wide open with no sharpness issue...this would somewhat help with those BGs. POinting your lens more to the left would have been beneficial to the comp (or recropping if you do have the room there).
