    This Elegant Tern didn't get the fish this time, but it got one eventually. So, no fish were harmed in the making of this image. Bolsa Chica on July 4th, 2011. Terns are fast and great fun to watch. Also a challenge in the exposure department!

    What do you think about the sharpening on this one? I think I over-sharpened it just a bit.

    7D, EF400mm f/5.6L
    Manual mode, f/7.1@1/2000 ISO 400 WB 5900K
    AI Servo autofocus, hand-held no flash

    Here's a version with the sharpening toned down - adjusted the sharpened layer opacity to 50% Better, or no?

    I think that the first one looks best and this is a nice shot with quite a splash by the tern.

    I'm with Joel on this one. I don't think the first was oversharpened. I like the image.
