Default House finches taught me about love, pt. 1

HELLO! Sorry to yell. I was delighted to take this picture the other day. I used a Canon 7D and 70-300L lens at 221mm, iso400, 1/500, f7.1. My "techs" were screwy, a simple oversight...hence the blurred wing. I would have loved an eye-level shot, obviously, but with mating treebirds we take what we can get. You are looking at approximately 80% of the original capture. If you're so inclined, do write in with your gut reactions and pious propositions...

    Jack,

I like the movement in the wing to show the action. And the branch held by the female is a plus although I wish she were looking at you.

p.s. Laurie: the female would have only been reprimanded by her husband for looking at me. She was busy and focused on many things at once. Ha!

Lots to like here, Jack. Super behavior. The stick in her mouth and his blurred wing all add to the action. Even the sky is nice. Love the little bug to her right, would get rid of the dust bunny above him, toward the top of the frame.

Nice one, Grace...I never notice bunnies. I don't notice bunnies and I don't work on the images in "post" because I'm too insane to spend time on the computer and the heart fills with dread when I'm not out on Springtime mornings with the birds. Ideally: I'll look for birds in the daytime and work on the pictures at night. No no. I must also work so as to pay the landlord. Darts and dragons! Thanks much for noticing the dust-mar, I'll evict it presently.
