Summer Tanager

Chanced upon a 1st winter male Summer Tanager on the creek bed taking a bath. The angle is not optimum but since this is a rarity for me, I clicked away to my heart's delight.

Would like to hear your comments on the PP and composition.

Hi Eric - Nice shot. I really like the eye. Did you do any PP on the eye? I'm interested in figuring out how to get that kind of effect.

Hi mohibahmad, thank you for your comment. I didn't do any PP on the eye specifically but I did sharpening on the bird and NR on the background. I also adjusted the levels a little bit. I'm still on beginner level on post-processing though.

Regarding the eye, I usually focus at the bird's head. Though not always successful, I usually manage to get a few sharp images from several burst shots.

Post-processing and composition look pretty good Eric. Beautiful bird. Too bad about the OOF green elements in the FG.

Good composition, sharpness, pose and eye contact. I find the background to be interesting without being distracting.
