Default Fire in a Berg Sky

I finally managed to process an image from our recent foray into the Central Drakensberg region. This is a colourful sunset I was able to photograph one afternoon. On the left you can see Champagne Castle and Cathkin Peak. The Ukhahlamba/Drakensberg mountains is a UNESCO World Heritage site.

This is a blend of 2 exposures to tame the dynamic range and better represent what I saw taking place in front of me.

Morkel - very dramatic sky and clouds. I really like the fall colors too and the vertical comp works well. I might get rid of the one bright dot above the dark cloud nearest the horizon on the left.

Hi Morkel, one of my new favorites of yours. Love the cloud formations and the foreground grasses. I agree with Rachel on the one bright clipped cloud along the left edge of the image. Maybe a quick clone or tiny crop to eliminate it. Beautiful scene, well composed and captured.

Hi Morkel - nicely executed. I agree with the cloud cloning suggestion.

Very nice use of blending exposures. An area I need to explore.
I really like the FG more than the sunset, almost looks like fall colors.
    Well done.

Perfect rich sky colors Morkel, good composition and blending. Forground works nicely.

As you know Morks , this area is a special place for me ;) I like the composition and overall feel. I think maybe just a little "less yellow" and more "orange/red " will bring out that Berg Magic :) Great blending.
