Hi Rachel, it does have an AHHHH factor, just wish those blades of grass were not over the eye of the pup. Nice to see the pup so relaxed whilst Mom is alert, love the forward facing, pricked up ears.

Might suggest just cleaning the whites a fraction, adding a hint more black via Selective & Curves (just to give it some pop), then another round of Select USM on the Alpha. Nice light, not harsh, just enough.

    Rachel,

Looking at this on a less than good monitor, so it looks a little dark to me.
Judging by the lump between her legs, she must be a Hyena

    Nice shot Rachel
Comp, pose, colors ,contrast work well for me.You cannot do much about the grass blades.Another round of USM on the animals would improve the image.

    Well done Andreas

Very nice pose captured here Rachel, and that strong pose carries the image for me, so very alert and focused. Not too fussed about the other dog lying down, or the grass over its eye. Processing work looks good too.
    cheers

Hi Rachel, super alert pose from the parent, and the colours look spot on. Good to see the youngster not having a worry in the world.
