OK after Melissa's post I had to get back to the sweet side again. We had a great time shooting the chicks and I had to go back for a second shoot. This nest was in the corner of two streets in a vacant lot. I got lucky this little one was playing outside the nest and turned around to pose for me. Shot out my window on a bean bag since these chicks were pretty young we didn't want to spook them. Cape Coral FL. I lightened the eyes a little but they were really dark compared to the adults.

The setting is great, hard to believe this is next to busy streets.
The DOF is nice, setting off the chick from the BG.

Hi Cheryl, the central placement works well, and the direct eye contact from the little guy puts this over the top. Its great to be able to go back to a location and find what you are looking for.

    Hi Cheryl,
The cuteness factor is high in this image. I like the eyes- good PP. I find the curvy OOF weed on the tight pulls my eye away and I would get rid of it.
    Good comp with central placement.
I, too, see a slight magenta cast,
    Gail

    Awwww.... Mega cuteness!!

I particularly like the position of the bird in front of that bit of vegetation.

Very , Very cute. Nice details in the chick. BG is a bit busy , however I understand the problem having been there many times. Glad you were considerate of the bird.

Very, very cute !! Cheryl !! Very envious as I searched and searched for the species at a few known spots when in FL for a launch from Cape Canaveral a few years back but came away with nothing.

Cute as can be. I love how he's framed by the vegetation. I actually like the curvy weeks as they tend to look like an arch to me. Nice that you were considerate of this little one and didn't try to get too close.

Nice fo rme to See the chicks. Easy tweak on magenta......doesn't look bad but can be pulled back a touch. Given that this is their environs......I'm fine with it as presented! Very nicely done!

Just adorable, Cheryl. And that vegetation behind just puts it over the top. Good call on the center placement. And good call GOING BACK THERE for a second time! You did good.
