Arthur Morris deserves the credit for this and might not be thrilled that I jumped the gun on him.
He spotted the Western Gull on this perch and immediately stopped, jumped 10 feet left for sun angle and
    I just followed.
Although it looks staged, it is not.

Awesome perch. Almost looks like he's riding a wave.

Arash, I showed this to Artie on the bus ride home (viewed on my IPad), and his reaction was,
"It would have been a nice shot if the wings were up".
    I agree.
    I love this site!

Fantastic perch and beautiful light. OK, so the wings aren't fully extended. But the position they're in adds to the handsome comp, mimicking the curve of the perch. Well done.

Am thrilled so there! Love the perch--nice job of removing the bit of whitewash, and the perch and light are too, too sweet. Wish only that the wings were fully raised. It was great meeting you. I must say that your work has improved by leaps and bounds over the past year, both capture and processing.

I don't have much to add comment-wise about the image (I like it alot!), but I want to concure with Artie on the above quote!!
