Had a family vacation in the southern Indian state of Karnataka . Two days were set aside for shooting at the Nagarhole National Park . Got this Grey Jungle Fowl perched on a dead tree .

Camera : Canon 1D Mk III
    Lens : 600mm f4 IS
    Aperture : f 5.6
    Shutters : 1/640
    Speed : ISO 1600

Shot on bean bag support from a safari jeep .

    Cheers,
    Rakesh

Very neat!! I love the forest feel. Very nice details and walking pose. Super irridesence on the tail feathers. I'd prefer less perch (about half the current thickness), and although the backgorund is super nice there is one or two streaks I love to see gone (the thin pale vertical one top centre, and the darker diagonal arched one URC). Excellent image!!

Hi Rakesh, tack sharp throughout the jungle fowl, and this fellow certainly has an array of colours. The fowl is separated very well from the forest BG, and I agree with Dan, taking about half of the perch away will really change this image.

Cropped to get the perch a bit smaller in the frame . Also increased the contrast a wee bit .

Rakesh, agree that cropping some off the perch is a good idea. but the tail is just too close to the edge in your repost. the room is fine in your OP. just make this a pano crop.

not easy to get these guys so much in the open..loved the BG here. pose and details are awesome. I might warm it up a bit.

You did well with the low light. I actually prefer the original composition.
