Well.....Daniel asked for the fish.....so he got it! I had dozens of opportunities with these guys and worked quite a few different poses and angles. I may have wanted a slight head turn by her more......but will work on it during next years tour out there!
Hour or so after sunrise. Canon 1D Mark 3 with the Sigma 300-800 @ 731mm at f/7.1 for 1/3200 sec and ISO 500 all tripod mounted with Wimberly head standing in water with tripod lowered. Minimal crop all around and some minor beach clean up.

Excellent behaviour image, love the clean sand...and of course the fish sharing (looks like male Least Terns have more luck!!)

Hey Roman, very well timed to have captured this moment. Love the opposite poses, one with full wingspread, the other surrendering to receive the fish. Did I mention how well you have exposed this.

what a shot, Roman. the contorted head position of the female, the eye contact with the fish, the drama...awesome stuff.

I might be in minority, but if mine, I'd back off a bit on the beach cleanup front. It seems too clean :-) if you leave a few pebbles in, it would be better....that just my honest opinion.
