Haven't posted one of these for a while, one of my favorite ducks. Captured at the LA County Arboretum. Using the beamer pretty close to the bird, so I throttled it back to -2. Topaz DeNoise on the bg and USM on the bird.

    Kerry,

What a beautiful species and like Joel said the water compliments the subject.

    Hi Kerry,

Agree with the others that the bird and the background look great together - nice water texture. Difficult to get the exposure right with out burning those whites.

No Wood Ducks over here, so I must get out and photograph some similar Mandarin Ducks for comparison.

    Regards,

    Gerald

Gerald, if you have to settle for Mandarins then so be it. I would be happy to have that problem!

Love the duck, lots of details and colors are alive. The reflection adds to the beauty of the photo.
