This will be either the last or next to last of this series for the year; the Iris are well past peak, and I'll be moving on to other subjects. 180mm lens, f/16@1/60. RAW image processed in LR; curve applied for color and contrast in PS, burned corners slightly; NIK ColorEfex Detail Extractor on 18% layer, Topaz Simplify BuzzSim with adjustments applied on 72% layer, NIK ColorEfex Vignette Blur with adjustments applied on 78% layer.

And...because I kept tweaking...the Fractalius version...somewhat split between the two myself and looking for another perspective...

John, I love the Fractalius version. It caught my eye immediately. Love the colors and the processing. The composition is lovely. I will miss these images and I hope to see more flowers from you as I feel you have a great eye for them.

I also like the fractilius one, John. Beautifully composed, love the soft light, lush colors and texture. Excellent filtering work. Beautiful series you created with some really unique and interesting angles.

I prefer the second version. I like the extra details and rich colors it brought out, plus, the closer crop. Very nice lighting. Those beautiful, curving petals are a joy to look at. Excellent work.

John, another vote for the fract image. I've really enjoyed your Iris series - beautiful work on all of them. Do you have something in mind for your next series?

Thank you for the comments and views; I'm working on doing something between the two posts...like the colors and shadows created by the Fractalius version, but want a more "pastel" version of the same. Cheryl, I am anxiously awaiting the start of the Lotus blooms...but also looking to do a series on prairie wild flowers if time allows. Then again...I love shooting flowers...but need to branch out. I'll have to see where the days ahead take me!
