Had a lovely morning with this pretty rare bird. First time for me to see and photograph it. Bird on the left is a youngster which was being fed by the adult on the right. Will send a few more images in the near future.

Another of your typically fabulous images! Nice low angle, exposure perfect, great eye contact and creamy background, what's not to like?

    Ofer:

Excellent image, sharp, well exposed, great shooting angle, like the complimentary head positions, BG. Always fun to capture a new bird.

    Cheers

The gods were definitely smiling on you Ofer. Great eye contact from both birds, who are both in your plane of focus and are separated nicely from one another. Like the low shooting angle too. Solid image!

That's for darn sure. Who was it that said luck is what happens when opportunity meets preparation? (just googled it: Seneca)
Beautiful image, Ofer, love the IQ, the composition, and how those earthy colors pop against the blue. Well done as usual.

Great Image Ofer - I have never seen this species and this has to be one the best images I've ever seen of this species.

First I ever seen this species, just Awesome Ofer. I like the compositional balance of the two birds, the one head above the other. Just the right dof to cover both birds, great low pov, they pop from the nice oof background and forground. Excellent head tilts on both.
I'm also wondering how your liking the shorty Gitzo?

    Thanks for your comments everybody!
    Bobby,
The short Gitzo is fantastic size for this kind of shots. AFter you use it in water the screws get all rusty but you can still work with it. I could never get these photos with a standard lenght tripod. Highly recommended despite the issues with the rust.
