fill flash
This is the first picture where I didn't get totally overexposure with a fill flash from my camera's flash. I wanted both birds, but the image just doesn't seem to have any pizazz to it. Maybe a tighter crop on the right side? (In addition to a better photographer and post processing. lol)

I agree.....this one needs something.....I'm just not sure what would give it pizazz. With the 2 birds so close I think I'd like the one on the right to be more in focus. If he was further away the OOF would work better. If you get that type of situation again.....being so close, you might try different angles to shoot......perhaps getting on the ground and shooting up, etc. I'm not all that creative and don't often "see" a creative angle like others more gifted. What I do to compensate is to photograph as many different angles as I can and then see how they all look when I download them. I've learned a lot photographing this way.........all those deletes are often as valuable as the ones that I keep.
