Just as the light is starting to get sweet it almost always happens that a burst of flight phot opportunities multiples as the spoonbills presumably head off to roost for the coming night. I love the dark backgrounds created by the shaded mangroves, and in this one I particularly like the subtly lit leaves too. Taken, of course, from aboard the Hooptie Deux.

    Daniel:

Lovely colors, nice banking pose with full down wings, dramatic because of darker bg.

I might consider dodging the darker areas of feet and fill to help separate them slightly from the BG.

You obviously had a great time in Florida, based on the fine pictures!

    Cheers

Dark BG sets off the subject very well. The bill is just starting to get lost , but don't know how you could fix that. Love the light , color and details.

Like the flight angle and the downstroke of the wing. Spoonies look great against that green BG. Whites are looking a little warm but I'm on my laptop, which isn't the greatest for evaluating whites.

Daniel, the pink-with-black-BG is working very well...those leaves are also nice. I am preferring that to complete black, definitely. wingstroke and subject angle are excellent.

agree with Doug...neck area looks a bit hot.

I like the flight angle, lighting, details, sharpness, shadow on far wing and dark BG. I would try to make the feet more visible too. Beautiful image Daniel!

Thanks guys, those whites will be easily tamed (I agree they look hot as posted). Funny thing is that I just checked in PS after reading the comments and the only clipping is to the reds. Go figure!

More free advertising for James and the Hooptie Deux!
Great flight shot and wonderful wing position. feet are a bit lost against the dark BG but nothing a bit of dodging can't fix! You got a great wing position as well. Lovely,
    Gail
