Nancy, like the spider web look of your meadowlark. Wish I had Fractalius, it looks like it has lots of possibilities.

Hi Nancy...beautiful job on this! How did you get the bg so clean? You might consider a texture.

Nancy, classic pose! Great head angle, the framing is great. The bold frac processing works nice in contrast to the smooth monotone BG. Love the touch of yellow. Optionally I think you could go tighter on the framing, off the top and left, but it looks great as is. Nicely done.

Nice singing capture and fract treatment, Nancy. Like the splash of yellow coloring, has pleasing illustrated look to it.

Nancy, I like the illustrated look also. Perfect amount of fractalius and I love how clean he looks against the background. I could see a touch off the top.

Hi Nancy, simply beautiful fract work. I love the way the fract turned out on this one. I am going to go the other way and suggest a little more room on the left, but that's just me

Thanks everyone! Funny that several of you mentioned different sorts of cropping as I played with the crop also and due to indecision I just stayed with my first crop. I like all of your suggestions and think they all would work. See...I still can't make up my mind ! The bkgd is au natural with a bit of noise reduction. It is short grass prairie that is still dry and brown from lack of rain.

Nancy, I'm late to the party, but I have to echo so many of the comments made; beautiful illustrative effect by your application of Fractalius...great pose, strong composition...+1 for taking a bit off the top. Nicely done!

Yes, Maureen I do. However Western Meadowlarks have a somewhat different song from Eastern Meadowlarks! And thank you, Denise & John.

Lovely!! This looks like an ink drawing with color. Excellent! I like the simplicity. I might crop a bit off the top. The bg seems to have a lighter band across the top--wonder if that occurred in posting. I like the soft, muted bg color.
