Default 7D and Canon 2xTC and Taped Pins

If I tape the pins on the TC and then do a microadjustment, will that microadjustment affect the already saved ma for my 500mm f/4? or How does the 7D know which ma to use if it does not know the TC is there?

    Hi Dave,

If you tape the pins, the camera is unaware that there is a TC in place and it will think the microadjustment is for the 500mm w/o the TC. This is one of the drawbacks of tricking the camera into not recognizing a TC.

I have not tried it, and since I like to microadjust I probably won't. I will use it with Live View and auto focus that way, or focus manually.
