    Default Eastern Meadowlark

My first post in this forum.

Taken last year at Joe Overstreet in Florida.

Removed some 'bird droppings' on the post.

    Thank you for looking.

Hi Rajo, a big welcome to BPN, and to the avian forum. Good calling pose from the lark, nice open beak with a hint of his tongue. Nice and sharp, and I like the detail and colours, with a good view of the feet. The perch is not ideal, but we cant control where they want to sing from.

When I opened your image, I could see that your posting size was far too large. You have posted this 1024 in height, when it should only be 800 high. The max posting size is 1024 wide, and 800 high.

    Hi Ramon,
Great BG and singing pose. Love the full look at the feet. Is this full frame? If it is then I would crop some off the top,
    Gail

Welcome to BPN, Ramone! I've been trying to get close to one of these for a while now, even by using my car as a "rolling" blind...now I see it can be done with 400mm...although Florida seems extra special when it comes to avian approachability! Nice vertical comp (but pointing your lens down a bit more would have been a good option), good colours, and I like the calling pose. Perch is bland, and I do wish for a better head turn our way. Hope to see more from you!!

P.S. As a paying member (thank you for the support!), you can upload your image to BPN's server for a generated thumbnail...

Ramon, welcome aboard. Nice to see someone else using the 40D-400 combo. lots of things to like here...the pose, colors, green strip at the bottom and the exposure. If mine, I'd back off a bit on the sharpening front.
