Always like BIF images, this one looks underexposed probably caused by bright sky/light source behind subject. When the meter sees bright light it will try and underexpose the picture. Remember the camera wants a mid-tone gray image. The meter forced the exposure towards underexposure to compensate for the bright light which it thinks will overexpose the image. Usually we open up the exposure 1.5 - 2. stops to compensate when shooting towards the sky or a bright light. Another option is to meter off the sky (not the brightest spot but a mid bright spot) and then adjust the exposure. Of course, always check the histogram and adjust as needed.
The ISO speed is low and this limits opportunities usually 400 works as a solid baseline. A higher ISO speed allows for a faster shutter which can help when capturing motion like a flying bird. Not to pile on but some noise reduction should be run on the background as well. I might suggest looking at the Education Forum and checking out some of the threads on ISO, noise reduction and general nature photography. I have read them all and still read "The Art of Bird Photography" from time to time. BIF can be challenging keep posting and practicing you will improve in due time.
