There is no shortage of Coots in our area. But I still enjoy watching the critters march along on those unusual feet. I thought this one looked pretty good against the sparse green grass background. There was the foot of another Coot in the upper left corner that I cloned out. Have I sharpened/contrast the bird enough?

My comment would be that the Coot is walking slightly away rather than either towards or at right angles to the camera. Regards Mat

Sharpness and contrast looks good to me. Image could be improved by getting lower and getting a head turn for eye contact. A bit more room all around would help too.

agree with Alan's advice. the shooting angle is a bit too steep, I think. exposure looks good to me as well.
