A close-up of the "beard" of the Iris...180mm, f/22@1/13. RAW image processed in LR; curve adjustment in PS for tone and color. NIK Detail Extractor, Topaz Simplify->BuzzSim and NIK Vignette Blur all added on different layers with varying degrees of opacity; masked the blur and painted in the effect where I wanted it. Looking for a different take on the Iris in this series...

John, this is lovely. The filtering is soft and pretty. I think if it were mine, I'd give some thought to cropping a little off the top edge and cloning the green area. It's a beautiful flower. I miss seeing these. Your series of iris images has really been very enjoyable for me.

Good suggestions Maureen, and thank you for the comments...the green area had bothered me as well, just wasn't too confident in cloning it out! Here's a second look.

John, I like the repost with a little off the top and minus the green. I like the perspective on this one and really like the vignette. I'm loving this series

John, I am enjoying this series so much. The repost does look good and you did an excellent clone job. I like the soft color tones. I might tone down the white patch on the upper petal if it were mine.

Denise, I had the same initial thought...wasn't sure as there was some detail there...always good to have someone else with the same thought to push you forward a bit. I'll give it a look and see how it goes; thank you for the feedback!

I love the brightness and color of the "beard." Seems to glow! Draws my eye right to it. Beautiful shapes! Excellent and enjoyable series. I hope you print some of them.
