We are very fortunate in having one of these beautiful raptors visit us occasionally, but he usually sits on the telephone pole, not exactly the nicest perch, Luckily we found this one in a more natural habitat in Addo Elephant National Park, Spoth Africa, 14th April 2012.

Nice BG. I like the open mouth & the direct look. Although others may think the perch is busy, I like it.

Good looking raptor. I like the light even thoug is dark on one side of the bird. The BG is very good too. Thanks for sharing.

Very nice shot. Love the open beak, great background, and very nice perch.
    Well done.

Great shot Ken I like the pose, I appreciate the left eye is in shade but I would consider making a mask of the darker are and brightening it just a little - just to "lift" the eye.

I like the image as a whole. I just wish for either more frontal lighting, or the head turned towards our right to hide the shaded side of the face. Beautiful background, and neat perch!

Thanks everybody obviously the light was not in the direction I wanted but I liked the open mouth on this one, I do have some sideways therefore reasonably lit which I will try to post soon. Personally any image after so many years of trying was most satisfying
