    Default SPUR - WINGED GOOSE

    Attached Images Attached Images

Image created this morning at a local bird sanctuary , in glorious spring -like autumn weather and sun shine.
Flocks of these geese flew over regularly , but too high and far, with shots only possible against the blue sky .T
This one decided to pass low over the water right in front of the hide. Luckily I was ready when it suddenly appeared from nowhere.

Lovely detail and IQ and the light looks good. The far wings white look hot and also a bit of noise visible in the darks in the near underwing, maybe darken them a bit! Still the best image I have seen of this species..>Nice one Arno

Neat image. I've never seen one of these before. I might burn the bright weeds above/behind the bird a touch to darken them, as they pull my eye a bit, but that's minor. Nice job!

    Hi Arno,
Great wing position and flight angle. I would definitely try to recover some of the whites on the far wing. The IQ and sharpness are excellent. I wish that the band of sand didn't intersect with the body but that is a minor nit.
I like the reflection of the water in the underwing and the feather detail in the black belly feathers is awesome,
    Gail

Very nice in flight shot, a striking pose and a very attractive goose.

Sharp with a nice wing position. In addition to the above suggestions you might consider minimizing the large reflection in the eye.

As mentioned , detail lost in the far wings whites. Would darken the BG a bit as it is bright and draws the eye away. Good eye contact and fine comp.

sweet image love the pose and wing position. sharp and good BG. Agree the white patch on the far wing looks as if it was overexposed and then pulled back in post, would have been nice to have some texture in that area

Hi Arno, great close up of a Spurwing in flight. I like the wing position, and well exposed on the body. Overall, nice and sharp too.

Was this at AR on sunday morning, or do you have hides down your way too?
