This pair of Silver Gulls were feeding on small critters that they were stirring up by shuffling around with their feet.
The first shot from my new 5D3 that I am reasonably happy to post.

    5D3 100-400 @ 400 1/500 f9 -2/3ev iso100. Small crop. Sharpening as is from the camera with +1 internal sharpening set.

    Colin:

Always fun to get a new camera! Very nice detail, like the action, the obvious interest shown by the left bird.

I might try a version with about 30% of the free space cropped off the top.

Look forward to more as you bond with your new toy!

    Cheers

nice shot colin. always nice to see birds interacting. I noticed that some of your previous shots were with the 7D. Would be interesting to hear your thoughts on the move from 7D to 5d3.
    cheers

Nice interactive shot. I really like the water splash created by the bird on the right and the interest that the other bird is showing. well done with the new camera,

Hi Colin, I like the inquistive pose of the gull on the left, and the splash created by the gull on the right. Lovely blues of the water, and agree with Randy to take off the top.

    Congrats on your new toy.
