Hi John, very nice fract work for this Iris image. I like this a lot!

John, this is nice, kind of dark and mysterious. The fractalius makes it look like water flowing on the bottom and mist or smoke on the top. It's very beautiful

Thank you for the comments...I was waiting to head out this morning to shoot - Iris again!, and I finally had a reasonably calm morning! - and tried Fractalius on this while I was having my coffee. Met up with Jay...shot for about 2 1/2 hours, talked for almost 3 after...all in all, a great way to spend the morning. Off to work the school auction tonight..will take a peek at the images from today tomorrow and see what's there.

John, Nice framing on this...the FRAC work is cool, makes it look aflame. Little bright in ULC, for me. The in-your-face view is terrific, draws me right in!

John, Beautifully composed and the Fract. work adds a nice flow. Even wirh the Fract it still retains a delicate look to the flower, nice job.

I really like the white and hints of yellow against the blues. The dark tones in the center add to the impact. Very nice.

Looks like you are having fun. This is my least favorite of the series. Seeing how it is the same base image as the one that was my favorite, the change must be due to the frac filter--a bit strong for my taste.

Anita, it's not my favorite either...it was more of an attempt to take another look at an image I really did like to see where I could go with it. I think I'm starting to have a clearer sense of where I want to go with my OOTB images...at least of florals!

Experimenting, as you did here, is the way I explore options for my photographs. I then have to live with the new effect for a while to see if I like it or not. Please know I wasn't being critical, just giving you feedback. I like seeing experiments, as it gives me ideas I might try. :-)

Nah...didn't take it as critical at all! The only way to grow through this forum is to listen with an open heart and an open mind, while balancing the feedback with your personal vision and style. I love the feedback...and I agree totally, this image isn't my favorite...and that's probably the reason I posted it, to see where the discussion might take me. I deeply appreciate the candor of so many here...it's how we learn, how we continue the journey. Never any worries...I would MUCH rather hear candid feedback than to stagnate as a photographer. Take care!
